THE BEARS HAVE JUST LOST THE SUPER BOWL!!!!!, 21 years after their trip to New Orleans, the Bears threw down a stinker in what was supposed to be their finest game. Oh well, at least they made it there and were better than 30 other teams this year, and not quite as good as one. Hopefully we can keep the team intact this offseason and make more runs at the championship in the coming years.

I am leaving the pictures from last week up because I don't feel like supplying new pics from what was essentially a heart wrenching loss...

I don't necessarily want to pile on Grossman, but as my buddy Luke put it: So I'm watching the Super Bowl and I realize that Rex Grossman is capable of completely blowing a game for his team. Why didn't someone in the media point that out before the game so I wouldn't have been so disappointed when they lost?

Anyway, they had a great start, with Hester bringing it to the house on the opening kick-off, everything looked stellar for the Bears, the even dominated the first quarter. Then things started going poorly, with I think it was Manning biting on the crossing route freeing Reggie Wayne for the long bomb, c'mon dude, there were two other guys covering the middle, stay with the deep guy!

The Vaunted Bear Defense didn't really help, surrendering a LOT of yards on the ground, that was really inexcusable, but then again our offense didn't help with the time of possession either. Our defense was exhausted by the 4th quarter. Somehow the Bears were still in it in the 4th quarter, when two costly Grossman picks really sealed the deal. That and his inability to handle snaps in the rain. But really, there are eleven minutes left in the game, and you're only down by 5 points! Why are you panicking and throwing bombs in the pouring rain when you need to pound the ball and get first downs and take what the give you thru the air, stupid, stupid game plan and terrible execution by the cum-slinger on those throws he had no business making.

So at least it was a good run, I'll give them that, I was extremely happy that they got the the big show, and very disappointed that it didn't come out our way, but we have a solid team in place, we need to sign the coaches and Briggs, and come back to make another run.

At least the Super bowl party was a success, even though I lost my chili belt to Jason, it was a good chili, I hope to have pictures up here soon.

Lovie Smith gets doused and Brian Urlacher hoists the George S. Halas trophy!

Grossman escapes the Pocket early on in the game. He showed maturity in the pocket and went turnover less, adding one TD on 144 yards, for a 73.2 QB rating.

Thomas Jones had a great game, Benson started punishing the Saints D, and Jones capitalized with great running.

Berrian makes a circus catch for the only score thru the air.
Rashied Davis proved a running threat on this end-around that torched the Saints for some yardage.
Robbie Gould delivered on Sunday as he has all year long.

Adewale Ogunleye and Mark Anderson on two of the Bears three sacks.
