In an epic battle of two great defenses with crappy offenses at Soldier Field, the Bears smothered the Ravens into submission with a 10-6 victory in a defensive slug-fest. If you drew it up on paper before the game, this was exactly how it would've played out; rainy, sloppy and only 16 total points. With a Bears win for a share of first place in the division and the White Sox unbelievable comeback at the Cell, it will go down as one of the greatest days in Chicago sports history. Still a long way to go for the Bears this season and 2 more for the White Sox, but yesterday's display let us know that the stars might be aligned this year. I'm still lying on my floor from exhaustion and 4 heart attacks, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

The Bears Defense continued to impress yesterday, holding the Ravens to 230 total yards and only 2 field goals, but more importantly, kept the Ravens out of the endzone. The Bears are the only team in the NFL who haven't given up a rushing touchdown this year. Nathan Vasher led the Bears D with 8 tackles and a couple pass defenses while Tank Johnson posted 2 key sacks to stall a late 4th quarter Ravens drive. In the Bears final possession, Thomas Jones pretty much sealed the game with a 42 yard run, and then dove over the pile to convert a 4th and 1 to ice the Bears victory.....CEDRIC WHO???
Even though the Bear's Offense only scored 10 points, Thomas Jones managed to chomp up 139 yards on 25 carries, and most importantly, the Offense ended the game with zero turnovers.

Now its on to Mo-town where the Bears will face the Lions and their gay quarterback (T.O. said it best, "if it looks like a rat and smells like a rat, its a rat."), who pulled out a squeaker yesterday in Cleveland to remain tied for first place in the division with the Monsters of the Midway. You can bet the Bears D will be ready, hopefully the offense will show up. In a meeting earlier this year at Soldier Field, the Bears whipped the Lions 38-6. You know that game is still fresh on Detroit's minds, lets go up to that crappy dome and show them last time wasn't a fluke.......and if we do........the Bears will have sole possession of first place in the division!!!!! GO BEARS, GO WHITE SOX, WE LOVE YOU, MAKE US PROUD!!!!

The Bears have a tenacious and swarming defense this year, Here Lance Briggs (55), Hunter Hillenmeyer (92) and Brian Urlacher (hidden) take down the Ravens' Jamal Lewis. The Bears held Lewis to 34 yards on 15 carries. Click to Enlarge Image.
